downcall

When something you run stops running, downcall wakes you — silently, on your wrist, until you acknowledge — without changing a line of the thing itself.

Setup

curl -fsSL https://downcall.me/install | sh
downcall watch 'logs-*.log'

That prints a link. Open it on your phone, get the app, send yourself a test page, ack it on your wrist. Done: the check is armed.

How it works

A one-file agent on your box watches the thing — a log that should keep being written, a pid, a port, or any command — and reports here. If the thing dies, the agent says so and you are paged within seconds. If the box dies, the reports stop and you are paged after one period. Either way the page repeats every minute until you ack it, then stops, and you get one ✅ when it's back.

Free is free forever. Paid tiers exist because someone running a trading bot needs to know in a minute, and someone running a nightly backup does not.
